Wuppers - Invented in Germany

The founder of the Wupper, Ewald Beiersmann, inherited a doll/puppet factory from his father. One day Ewald was walking downstairs with a dragon and suddenly he was dawned with a brilliant idea! He thought to himself, “What fun it would be if this dragon could bounce!” He talked to his designer, who came up with the idea of adding a spring. That’s how the Wupper was born!  It was named after the German town, Wuppertal, which means valley of the river Wupper!
